There were a lot of bits to bring together. A new font and color for the site name. A couple of my favorite puzzle-piece and little round guy graphics spliced together to give a bit of color and action to the header - updated content, and more. It was a work of love and I loved doing it. After all, I'm the WordPress Wizard!
Oh What A WordPress Wizard He Is!
People often think my nickname, the Wiz, comes either from me living in Kansas, right over the vault that holds the original print of the Wizard Of Oz movie, in fact, or perhaps because I'm a wiz(ard) with WordPress. It's actually neither of those but both the Wiz and WordPress Wizard have stuck with me. Most people who know me online know me by one of those two monikers.
But, not only do I build websites -- now mostly with WordPress -- but I have been an instructor, mentor, and coach, helping others figure out what they want to be when they grow up, for most of my life. Now, I'm not really big on some of the terms for what I do. The big ones like expert and guru leave me cold. In fact, I'm involved in so many different things I can hardly be an expert. I'm more of a generalist, and I'm proud of it.
And the coaching thing -- well, it's what I do -- and, because I work with so many other coaches as my clients, I am starting to be called the Coach's Coach or the Web Guy For Coaches. I'm not big on the term coach either because, by itself, it is just too darn generic. When coupled with descriptive terms like Life, Business, Success, Wellness, or Prosperity (and others) that define the role the coach plays, then it is much better.
I guess I'll have to get used to it, since it's a big part of what I do. After all, there are a lot of great coaches out there, and I am truly honored to be included in such great company.
Merging Of Ideas And Websites
As anyone who knows me well will tell you, I'm an idea person. I've helped many people find and develop the ideas that get them on track for their own business success, and I'm not at a loss of ideas for myself. Over the years I've come up with many great business ideas, things within my skill set, and for which I found great domain names and built a website to support a successful business. Some I sold, but I found myself keeping too many of them for myself. They were just too good.
The big problem with that is there just isn't enough time in the day to pursue all those wonderful avenues and, as a result, many of them fall by the way side and into disrepair. That's not a good thing. It can lead to worry and insecurity and other negative feelings which can take away even more from your focus. I knew I had to do something about it. So, I did just that.
I've been moving the content and redirecting the page and post URLs from sites that I have had established for some time. Some, like Online Presence Perspectives I have rented, others, like From Website To Wealth and WP Business Network are available for rent -- see Web Estate Agents for available sites -- and a small number are being kept back for future development. OK. They were just TOO good!
Moving all that great content to WizardsPlace is making a lot of work for this old WordPress Wizard but the results are looking pretty good as it all begins to come together. You'll find a lot of good stuff here on WizardsPlace. I encourage you to poke around. Extended material, including courses, tutorials and workshops, is available behind the membership firewall but lifetime access is very reasonable. It is also incuded with the purchase of any on-site premium course.
Monthly membership, also affordable, extends access and includes all on-site courses, trainings, and workshops at no extra cost. There will be at least one new premium product coming every month.
So there it is. It's been a long road and a heavy lift, and it's not done yet, but it's ready for prime time and you are going to love what you find here. The WordPress Wizard is sure of it! And there will be more. Much more!
