Zen Cart

Zen Cart Zen Cart is another open source project in the spirit and style of osCommerce. Their website claims they are the "Shopping Cart Designed for Online Merchants" and, like most of these osCommerce derivitives, they offer a feature-rich package website with integrated shopping cart, database and administration functions.

Zen Cart continues a wide selection of features from osCommerce but has made some significant design and coding changes. You cannot, for example, install contributions designed for osCommerce directly into Zen Cart. Some of the standard features include a template system, an HTML editor for web page content, a coupon system, a product attributes manager, and the ability to specify which credit cards you will accept.

Zen Cart is stable, free and has some very nice looking skins pre-installed. The administration interface is confusing to some due mostly to the large number of pre-installed contribution. Over all this can be considered an acceptable package.
