There’s a lot of good things we can do in our lifetime. But for the most part, many people are content to just let life roll by around them. If you want to do great things, follow these 6 techniques to keep yourself motivated.

1. Manage your time well

Time management plays a huge role when chasing our dreams. Some people are lucky enough to spend all their time working on their dreams. But for many people, they have to juggle it with their day jobs and their busy family lives.

If you belong to the second group (or the majority), try to work on your most important tasks first and then finish the rest of your tasks in a timely manner. Every free time you get, use it to work on your dreams.

2. Work on constantly improving yourself

Great people are constantly learning. Even successful entrepreneurs like Bill Gates and Elon Musk read books all the time. They’re busy with their multibillion-dollar companies, but they still find time to read books and learn new things.

If you want to do great things, you need to be constantly on the lookout for ways you can improve yourself.

3. Have a to-do list

Being organized is another important trait of successful people. We’ve only got 24 hours in a day, and we spend almost a third of that sleeping.
The remaining time you need to balance between life, work, and your dreams. Your to-do list will help you stay on track.

4. Use others’ success as inspiration

There are many successful people you can use as inspiration. You can read their memoirs or their stories and get to know them as people. You’ll see that they’ve encountered their share of failures, but they never let it get to them.

5. Push your boundaries

Exploring and experimenting outside your comfort zone is necessary so you can succeed in your goals. When you push your boundaries, you’re essentially trying to see how far you can go. Don’t be afraid to find out – push as far as you can!

6. Get a mentor

A mentor is someone who’s walked the same path. Someone who’s also done great things and is willing to share what they’ve learned with someone else. Let that someone be you.

If you have a mentor who shares your passions, you’ll find that you’ll be able to reach your goals much quicker than if you did it on your own.
