Focus On The Message Not The Format

We hope that all is going well with you and that you are finding our training series on content creation useful.

Can you imagine how exciting it would be if all you did was add a new post or two to your website or blog each week and this began to attract a growing and continuous stream of new site visitors to your site over time until, eventually, you had steady traffic coming in every single day on "auto-pilot"?

Imagine visitors turning into an ongoing pipeline of targeted prospects and new customers for your business, and having all this happen sustainably without having to pay for ongoing advertising. This is called "organic" traffic and it can all happen very easily if you just start publishing content to your WordPress website or blog on a regular basis and turn this into a habit.

Publishing fresh web content on a regular basis is a crucial part of building a successful presence online, yet so many businesses neglect this.

If you have been following the articles and information we post regularly on our blog, you will see that the other crucial part of what makes this organic content strategy successful is to publish content through a WordPress site that has been expertly configured to notify search engines, social media, RSS feed directories and other authoritative web sites and online directories as soon as you hit the "publish" button. We have just one more very short, sweet and simple but really powerful tip to share with you about content writing:

Tip #6 - Write Your Web Content In A Plain Text File

If you are really busy, don't waste time messing around with things like content formatting, content styling, choosing typefaces, colors, font sizes, etc. WordPress has a fantastic WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) visual content editor that lets you do all of this later.

Please don't underestimate the power of this time-saving tip. Using a plain text editor like Notepad (Windows), Apple's built-in TextEdit or even a plain Memo app on your mobile device to write content lets you focus entirely on your message. It lets you create content quickly, effectively and without distractions.

Write your content into a plain text file, then save it. Edit and format it later when you are ready to publish.

IN SUMMARY

Use a plain text editor to write content quickly and effectively.

ACTION STEP

Create your next article or blog post using your device's own plain text file application to see for yourself whether or not this helps you write stronger and more compelling content.

Don't worry about formatting or editing anything at this stage. Just write. When you are ready to post and publish what you have written, simply open your text file, then copy and paste it into your blog post content area. Now you can format it to your heart's content using the built-in WordPress visual editor and when you are happy with the end result, click the button to publish or update your content live on your site.
