It's easy to get comfortable. I've done it many times. I find the easy way and sit back and mostly let things happen. It's good. Very good. For a while!

Then things come crashing down. I'm behind in my work. I'm over whelmed. I can't find the place to jump in and get going again.

That's when I need to find someone to make me uncomfortable. Maybe it's my spouse. Maybe a mentor or a friend. Sometimes I need to ask. Sometimes they just see that the time is right and they step in with the right words. In a recent blog, Seth Godin asked, "Who looks you in the eye and says, "Given your skills, you could do better..."

That is exactly what you need. A friend, a loved one, a mentor who shares your understanding and who cares enough to offer the truth. That's the moment you need them most. It's a good idea to plan for this and queue them (more than one!) up before you need someone and find you don't have anyone.

If you're ever in that position, not having someone who will jar your sense of comfort with a little reality nudge, then it's a good thing you are an OSA member -- you must be if you are reading this! -- because you can ask right here in a forum, or email the association, and we'll get someone back to you.

Get out of your comfort zone and get back on your path to success!

[Note: if you should need someone don't hesitate to write to the OSA Executive Director, Rev. Stephen B. Henry, PhD. He will get someone back to your or get back to you himself. Contact Steve at thewiz@ourhutch.com]
