1st Page 2000, one of the best, free, HTML editors to ever come along, is no longer supported by its creator as it has been replaced by First Page 2006. The original .zip archive file is available from numerous sources on the 'net. We have a copy (1stpage2.zip) available here. Please read the warning below:

WARNING: 1st Page 2000 is a quality web design program. It is one of the very best available. It is a fully functional release (not limited or shareware) and it is FREE. That seems hard to believe but it is true.

1st Page 2000 comes with a number of code libraries including an extensive selection of JavaScript modules that you may or may not use as you wish. One of these modules is a 'trick' script called 'Six Buttons From Hell' -- it is not harmful, nor will it ever do anything on it's own. It is just JavaScript that you would have to load and run before it could ever activate. When run, it does cause an annoying effect and on some machines it will cause a lock-up requiring a hard reboot to restore control of the machine. Nothing is harmed by this but you may want to avoid and even delete this script. You can easily find it in the directories created at installation.

If you run Norton or McAfee anti-virus software, they will likely give a false positive hit on the code in this script claiming it to be a virus. This script is neither a virus nor a trojan. It is simply a script and can do nothing unless it is run! (virus and trojan programs are self-replicating and self-executing respectively) This JavaScript will not execute or replicate on it's own. It is NOT a virus.

If this information worries you, simply do not download 1st Page 2000.
