Go Daddy is an Internet domain registrar and web hosting company, which also sells e-business related software and services.

I've had very good service with this company for basic services like domain registration and simple hosting. I'm not overly impressed by their higher end services. I used to maintain co-located servers with them but I've moved those elsewhere.

I have found GoDaddy to be about the best all-round deal available for domain registration, though. Their price isn't the cheapest ($9.99 basic) but they are reliable and their interface is generally easy to use once you've got through the learning curve that typically accompanies a new place.

They really are "in your face" about advertising all the extras they offer. If you just want to register a single domain name you have to go through pages of the stuff, even if you click the "no thank you -- take right to checkout" button.

Newbies should be careful not to get pressured into purchasing a lot of services they don't really need. Tech support must be paid a commission on sales the way they hype the extras!

Tech support waits are also quite long so if you are someone who needs a lot of help you should probably expect to spend a little time listening to Musak and more ads! The support you get, however, will be pretty good -- at least as good as most other places and sometimes considerably better.
