There are a lot of how-to books around about the online community and especially about social networking. It's not a big surprise that books about Twitter are no exception. Finding a good one, however, in a sea full of offerings is no easy task. Many of them are page after page of fluff, repeating the same old same old over and over. Some seem written by authors who haven't actually experienced what they are writing about. A few are written just for geeks or require a tech degree to decipher. Every now and then, thank goodness, one stands out from the crowd.

Marko Saric operates HowToMakeMyBlog.com, a blog that focuses on building and developing online web logs (blog). Marko recently sent me a copy of his new e-book to review.

Marko Saric's e-book, "Twitter Marketing: How To Go Viral On Twitter" is, without a doubt, one of those precious few that stands out from the many. Published as a .pdf file (anyone can read it with the free Adobe Reader software or plugin for their browser) it is a professionally styled easy read that takes the beginner through the process step by step while, at the same time, being loaded with content for the geeks among us. No one will say, "Where's the beef?" when it comes to this book. But no one will go away glassy-eyed either.

Marko walks us easily, and step-by-step, through the process of establishing, and first using, a Twitter account. He clearly and carefully explains the process and the results. We learn what parts of Twitter are public and what parts are private and what all this means to us as we expose ourselves to yet another social networking site. Then, just as easily, he walks us through what we need to make our account a unique, recognizable, part of our brand. Nothing is missed here.

What to do, and what not to do, are covered clearly in Marko's own, unique, style of prose and a series of useful checklists. Marko speaks not only about concepts, services, and sources, but he provides numerous links to authoritative sites themselves. These links alone are worth the price of admission.

And then comes going viral. Marko does that too, taking your through the process of expanding your Twitter involvement a little or a lot in the same easy, careful, detailed way. Marko answeres your questions before you even know you have them.

There's no fluff here. It's only as technical as necessary and it is easy to follow. If you are a beginner you will go back to this well time and again as your skills improve and your needs grow. If you are already a pro I am confident you will find utilities, tools, and services, you never knew existed. And, of course, Marko is about blogging so the e-book covers tieing Twitter to your blog and your blog to Twitter.

As Marco says, "Blogging and twittering is very much about personality, connection and
communication." So is this e-book!

I've been around the Internet a long time -- since before it was public, in fact. I've read a lot of books, e-books, tutorials, and presentation papers, over the years and I can say without pause this is among the best. If you don't already have a Twitter account you should purchase this e-book first to guide you in the process. If you are already on Twitter you should purchase this e-book to find out so much more you could be doing there!
