Using the search box at the top of the right sidebar allows you to easily find pages, blog posts, and documents from our database that contain the terms (or keywords) searched for. A typical search result will look something like the image below. In fact, this shows the first two returns (at the time this information was originally posted) for the keywords Google Checkout. You should note that search terms are not case sensitive.

Sample Search Results - OSA

Search returns appear as shown in the above image, and are similar to regular blog and page content entries, however there can be more than one per page. The OSA site is configured to show up to ten results per page and then paginate to show more if they are available.

Each return is boxed and may show any of the following points:

  1. The item title. Clicking on this will open/display the full document.
  2. The meta header includes information about the document such as date posted and author.
  3. When we feel an available book is most relevant to the topic at hand we will post an Amazon link to it. You can buy the book on Amazon by clicking the "buy from Amazon" button. For more information about Amazon links Click Here.
  4. When a book is available we will include the book title as a purchase link to Amazon as well.
  5. Many articles have links to other related material on the OSA site and/or to other off-site resources and materials.
  6. The text shown in the search result is usually a brief snippet of the entire article. If there is more for you to access the line beginning "This is a preview..." will be included with a link to open/display the full article.
  7. The meta footer displays additional information about the article such as the categories in which it is posted and the number of member comments attached.
  8. Some articles have no book recommendation but may have a link to the referenced resource.
  9. Articles may be text only, or have book recommendation and/or other photos, images, charts and other graphics. The teaser snippet of text is viewable by all (including free Bronze) level memberships but the full article is only available to paid (Silver and above) memberships.

The OSA site search is a powerful tool for finding information and it can be used by free Bronze level members to explore some parts of the site they otherwise do not have access to, in order to assist in determining if a paid membership will be of use to them.
