It has been said that "when the going gets tough the tough get going." When economic times are difficult successful business people, both online and off, need to keep active and make changes to deal with the situation. Here are a few good ponts to keep in mind and put in practice:

  1. Continue to list new items. People coming to your online store or website on a regular basis want to see new things. Listing new items and making changes to existing listings freshens their view and they are more likely to spend time looking, see something new or taht they missed before, and perhaps buy something.
  2. Buy new things but in small quantites. Don't tie up all your money in inventory when times are tough. But do add new things to your site every couple of days if you can.
  3. We all know that women love to shop. When the economy is bad they feel guilty if they spend too much. If you can list items at $20.00 or less you will find more impulse buying because it lessens that guilt.
  4. Constant contact is easy and cheap. Look it up and see if it is something that you think will work for you.
  5. Consider adding a little gift with each sale. Coupons or sample size products work well for this. Proving that little extra personal touch will mean so much to your customers in difficult times like this.
  6. You want to keep working your business -- adding listings, promoting, contacting customers -- in spite of the state of the economy. You will be amazed what a little effort can produce.
